Medina Lake Shore

I started this page as a picture of Medina lake but it seems to be collecting information on the drought of 2014. The pictures are below but I found the graph on the annual lake level for Medina Lake in the Bandera Bulletin ( BanderaBulletin.com ) and thought it interesting enough to open this page with it.

For more information about the drought see Save Medina Lake.com

Here are three pictures of Medina lake.

This is a picture of the shore line of Medina lake on a hot August afternoon in 1998 when the lake was almost full. Of course this is a compilation of a series of pictures I shot from near the spillway of the dam. The first picture is looking North the last picture is looking South. *longest picture on the Internet (see note at bottom of page)

1 2 3 (Masterson's Point) 4 5 6 7 8 -- Friendly Point 9 10 11 12 Red Cove Marina -- 13 14 15 16 17 Marina on Lake Medina -- 18 19 20 21 Rox's Bedrock Resort -- 22 23 Medina Dam -- 24 25

The picture below I shot on the 2nd of March 2013 when the lake was 76 feet low, 998 feet above sea level The elevation of the spillway is 1064 feet above sea level.

The Picture below was taken in 1941 during another drought. You can see a lot of little cars of the fishermen that came to fish in the lake along the side of the water . The picture was given to me my Pat McKay who got it from Anne and John Dale who got it from Jayne Sekatz Bourquin. I did crop some of the sky out of the top of the picture My Thanks to everyone.

Longest picture on the Internet

When I originally published th top picture in 1998 I said that it was the longest picture on the Internet, But was informed there is a longer one at:
http://gothere.com/sandiego/Boardwalk/

It's a picture of the Boardwalk in San Diego and worth a look if you like long pictures.

I just checked and it no longer loads, so I once again claim the longest picture.

If you know of a longer one let me know and I will add a link to it.
